Coaching
Believing is not
enough: you need to KNOW
What is Coaching?
First, here's what Coaching
is not. Coaching is not psychotherapy or counselling,
nor is it training or consulting. Though, at times
a coach may combine these disciplines, depending
on his/her professional training, background,
certification, or licensing. Coaching, itself,
though is a separate profession that focuses on
the present and on what the you need to do in
order to create the future you want. This involves
clarifying your values, your goals, your mission
in life and your gifts, among other things. The
coach facilitates this process by asking provocative
questions, offering honest feedback and inspiring
you with new ideas, concepts, strategies and frameworks
that help reorient you around success, as you
define it. Throughout the process, the coach offers
a supportive environment by championing you when
things are moving forward and respecting you when
progress gets stalled.
I coach most of my clients one to one, over the
telephone and, yes, that's a great way to do it!
Not only is it more convenient for both of us,
I am trained to listen for and hear what is being
said and not said on the call. It's amazing what
we can accomplish in a short time! I also coach
groups of up to ten people over the phone (via
teleconference phone call) and I coach individuals
via email, Instant Messenger, or in person. I
also teach live classes, teleclasses (via teleconference)
and have a free newsletters.
My philosophy, as your coach, is that I'm here
to support you with what you need to reach your
goals. I strive to inspire individuals or teams
to produce the desired result through personal
teaching in order to expand awareness and designing
environments. I will provide each of you the following:
- a series of tools to connect to your body's
wisdom
- a powerful way to make contact with the storyteller....
not the story
- how to use key words and language skills for
greater understanding
- the use of visualization, identifying body
signals, remembering resources as powerful ways
to move forward
- the distinction between empowered and disempowered
listening and the resulting impact on both you
and your surroundings
- ways to remember the experience
This requires sensitivity and flexibility on
my part. I may be different with you than with
another client who has different needs. But generally,
I take a light approach - we'll have fun on virtually
every call - as I ask for you to do more than
you might ask of yourself! Then again, I try to
be sensitive to those times when you need to slow
down and just have somebody listen.
My background is in health, fitness and teaching.
I draw on everything I've ever learned as a potential
resource for my clients!
