Many of us believe that we only have one spirit guide, however I believe this to be a misconception. It is also my belief, that we do have one Spirit Guide, that remains with us the rest of our life, but we have many others as we open our consciousness and ask for guidance.

Spirit Guides are entities - physical and non-physical - many of whom have chosen to aid/assist others through the same lessons, they have been through. In other words, on the path to spiritual enlightenment. Many Spirit Guides have had incarnations on the physical plane, as well as other realms. Theosophists, call them "divas", or "Himalayan Masters", the Indian yogi refer to their "master", the Christian Church speak of angels, while Spiritualist refer to "guides" "helpers", and "the gatekeeper". Other school of thoughts talk about "higher consciousness". In truth, it does not matter which name we have chosen for them, for They, like yourself, exist multi dimensionally.

Though many of us do not know our Spirit Guides while on this earthly plane, but as soon as we enter the astral levels, we will become aware of such a presence. We will immediately witness the comfortable presence of a divine friend's presence. Some of us are fortunate and have knowledge while others are awakening which is of utmost importance.

Can we see our Spirit Guides? Usually, our Spirit Guides simply "are." They are usually unseen by the naked eye, but given excruciating circumstances like Near Death Experiences and great calamity, we tend to interconnect more fluidly and visibly with our Spirit Guides. Spirit Guides are omnipresent.

The purpose of guides

The Guide acts a link between the intuitive and the world of spirit. A Guide assists the intuitive to form a better contact with those who wish to communicate and aids the less experienced communicators to get their message across and also teach the intuitive how to attune to the spirit world. A Guide is both a friend and advisor.

A guide does not control or run the life of the intuitive, he / she retains their free will. A guide cannot force a intuitive to do what they don't want to and in no way dominates him / her. Nor can working with a guide free you from responsibility or making the wrong decisions in your life. But they will help where they can to lead the intuitive in the right direction, although ultimately the decision still lies with the intuitive themselves.

What is important for us to realize is that each Guide generally comes in for a specific purpose in our life. Some guides stay with you for your entire experience in your present body. Others stay for many years then leave. You can ask a Spirit Guide to leave if you so chose. You can attract to your energies fields other guides.

A good example of a Spirit Guides' works would be a sudden intuition or thought suddenly entering one's consciousness. Spirit guides also help us with our creative sides, such as the arts (music, art, acting, literature, etc.). Spirit Guides help to heal emotional issues and restore harmony into the lives of many, as well as reuniting the deceased to find closure.

Spirit Guides 'speak' to you in many ways. Sometimes they are the little voice you hear in your head. They are quite often your polar opposite - the other part of your soul which remains on the other side in higher frequency as your soul experiences in third dimension. Others exist in higher frequency - they are Beings of Light that may physically appear to you in humanoid form so you mind can conceptualize them better.

Spirit Guides sometimes show up as ectoplasmic forms - in photos or for you to see with your own eyes. In addition, Spirit Guides may be viewed as extraterrestrial entities who link you with another aspect of your soul experiencing in another reality.

Spirit Guides can be introduced through channelling, mediumship, and meditation. They give us insight, through dreams or meditation. Connection is usually telepathic unless your Spirit Guide uses some form of telekinesis to move objects or manifest objects to reinforce their connection with you.
